I am thrilled to be a part of a group that consists of caring and gifted therapists who are committed to helping people of all ages. After counseling veterans at a VA hospital, spending some time home with my kids, and working in the school system, I decided to join a private practice to help support people across the entire lifespan. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and Integrative Behavioral Couples Counseling, and I have a passion for working with couples and families. I am in the process of pursuing additional training in Schema Therapy, which incorporates treatment of childhood wounds into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, providing a deeper understanding of oneself, including one’s various parts or “modes.”

I believe the struggles we face can prompt us towards growth and in making changes in areas we otherwise would not. Overcoming life's challenges can be hard, but with the right support, adversity can be revealed as a blessing in disguise. My role is to partner with you by guiding you and equipping you with the tools you need to move forward. I utilize in-depth assessment tools at the start of therapy to identify underlying issues more expediently and to help clients gain a better understanding of themselves and their struggles right from the beginning.

When working with children, I believe Play is a child's language and the natural medium through which they can express themselves, work through struggles and their life experiences, connecting with others while also having fun. Therefore, in working directly with children, play is an important means through which insight and change are achieved. I love partnering with parents and caregivers, helping them learn ways to continue connecting and support their child at home.

I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Smith College, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. I practice from a lens that focuses on the impact of a person’s environment, including school, work, neighborhoods, faith, family, and ethnic communities. I believe all of these play a significant role in one's life, and it's why I make it my goal to understand a person's surroundings and life experiences, welcoming them into a client's therapeutic journey.

I work with individuals ages 5 and up and have experience helping people with various needs, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar, ADHD, relationship struggles, and difficulties adjusting to new life challenges. I would be happy to schedule a 15-minute consult to share a little more about myself and to learn more about your needs and the ways I can help support you.
