Kayla Kilts

Counseling Student

I am a current graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

In May of 2023, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Heels!) with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and minors in Neuroscience and Speech & Hearing Sciences. I have experience counseling children, adolescents, and young adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and various mood disorders.

I am passionate about providing individuals with an empathetic and non-judgmental space where they feel comfortable to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. I practice from a client-centered approach because I truly believe that each client is unique and so is their therapeutic journey. My natural approach allows me to walk alongside each one of my clients to support their development of self-awareness, coping strategies, and meaningful connections with others. I also utilize trauma-based therapeutic modalities to foster healing from difficult life experiences. I strive to empower clients, and believe every individual is capable of personal growth and wellness.

In my free time, I love spending time with my friends and family, listening to the latest Taylor Swift album, exercising, and baking!
