Madi Morrison

Counseling Intern

"Life has a way of asking us to keep moving, even when we're still carrying experiences we haven't had the space to understand. I believe healing begins when we allow ourselves to slow down. When we slow down long enough to understand what we've been carrying, we often discover new ways of moving forward that feel more authentic to who we are. This belief is what ultimately led me to pursue counseling.

I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My professional journey has included working as a high school physical education teacher and, for many years, as a family and birth photographer while raising my own family. Those experiences continue to shape the way I hope to show up as a counselor.

I look forward to working with individuals across the lifespan as they navigate anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship challenges, grief, and the everyday experiences that can leave us feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves.

My hope is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood as we explore your experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. My approach is grounded in person-centered counseling while integrating evidence-based practices to meet each client's unique needs. Together, we can make sense of what you've been carrying and discover new ways of moving forward that feel more authentic to who you are.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children and am happiest when I'm learning something new, exploring new places, or experiencing life's meaningful moments alongside others.

Whatever season of life has brought you here, I hope you'll find a place where you feel safe to be yourself, supported in your growth, and encouraged as you move forward."
