Do you feel stuck, confused, anxious, or defeated? Is your child’s well-being or behavior troubling your heart? We all need supportive spaces to process life’s challenges, and I’d love to provide a warm, non-judgmental space for you or your child to explore your experiences and embrace your natural potential for healing and growth.
Prior to seeking a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I was an elementary school teacher in CMS and worked in non-profit settings both locally and internationally. I have more than a decade of experience working with children and adolescents, and I look forward to growing my experience working therapeutically with adults. As a mother of two, I also enjoy working with parents and caregivers.
My primary therapeutic style is Person-Centered, which means that I deeply value you as an individual and our therapeutic relationship. It also means that I approach therapy as a collaborative journey where you are the driver and I am the passenger. You'll steer the course based on your concerns and experiences, and I’ll offer support, facilitation, and professional knowledge and strategies to empower you towards your goals for healing and growth. I believe that the answers you need to move forward are already inside of you — we can work together to draw them out! When working with children I utilize Child-Centered Play Therapy, a play-based approach dedicated to increasing children's' confidence, resilience, and self-responsibility while they have a chance to “play out” emotional challenges that feel too big or complicated for words.
When I’m not working, I can be found playing outside with my family, reading, running, or cooking (out of necessity... and for fun!).
I look forward to connecting with you and working together!
